Laura has a scrapbooking crop at church tomorrow. She is preparing her special “scappin toffee”. This toffee was discovered by Laura at a scrapbooking retreat in Gatlinburg. She takes butter, brown sugar, pecans, chocolate chips and love and puts it together into a sweet tasting treat. This traditional scrapbooking crop candy is delicious and as unhealthy as you can get. But hey ya’ gotta’ splurge every once and awhile.

Kim Murphy in CBS-TV’s “Cold Case”

We are big fans of Kim Murphy who was the Pizza Hut girl in the Pepsi-”Star Wars” marketing campaign mentioned in a earlier post. Kim was in the CBS TV series “Cold Case” last night as a mother who suffered from postpartum depression and causes the death of her baby girl to exposure to frigid weather.

We were impressed by her performance last night. Kim’s acting is top notch and she needs some more acting gigs. May God bless her career. For more info click on the link below.

It’s Finally Fall

Fall is finally here! The season that hosts cooler weather, football games, and thanksgiving. All the beautiful colors that appears all around us in the trees is a reminder that God is in control. Somehow the feel of fall comes later and later every year. Warmer weather seems to be an extension of Summer. This weekend we will stay huddled together, drink some cocoa and enjoy the season. Its supposed to freeze overnight and that is very cool!

Kim Murphy on CBS TV’s “Cold Case”

My friend Barbara’s actress daughter Kim Murphy is going to be guest-starring in an episode of Cold Case (CBS Sundays 9 PM EDT) that is scheduled to air on October 15th. She’s a great actress who has been in several movies and guest-starred in many different TV shows. She is perhaps best known as “Pizza Hut girl” in the 1999 Star Wars commercials (along with the Taco Bell Chihuahua and Colonel Sanders SEE VIDEO BELOW). I’ve met Kim and she’s very down-to-earth, not trying to be a big movie star or anything – she just enjoys acting and would love to have a more regular acting gig. If the ratings are good for her episode of Cold Case, that will certainly help to get her name out there. I know she’d appreciate anyone who’s interested tuning in on the 15th.
